Peace in the Midst of Chaos

Sunday, November 9, 2025

Sometimes Christmas is something more. Sometimes, even in the midst of chaos, there can be a moment of peace. This Christmas, choose peace.

Discussion Point #1:
Has there been a time of chaos in your life when you still felt God’s peace? How did He help you experience that peace?

Psalm 94:19 [NIV] 19When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy

Discussion Point #2:
Even in moments of fear, God can give us peace. When fear creeps in, how do you handle it?

John 14:27 [NIV] 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Discussion Point #3:
We’ve talked about chaos and fear—now let’s talk about worry. Does worrying add anything to our lives?

Luke 12:25 [NIV] 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?

Isaiah 26:3 [ESV] 3You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Reflection for the Week:
This week, instead of a challenge we’re going to watch two short videos. In the War of 1914—World War I—there was a moment of peace in the middle of battle. Even as bullets and bombs filled the air, soldiers in some places laid down their weapons to celebrate Christmas together. It wasn’t everywhere, and it didn’t last long—but it reminds us that even in the midst of conflict, God can give peace.
