Provision 2025
Provision in Restoration
Sunday, October 12, 2025
Last time, we talked about how God restores the time the locusts have stolen. This week, we turn to another kind of restoration—the restoration of broken relationships. Since God is a God of restoration doesn’t that mean that He can restore families, friendships, or any other relationship that needs healing?
Discussion Point #1:
God is a God of restoration. In what ways have you seen Him bring healing to families, friendships, or other relationships, or how do you hope He might restore them?
Galatians 6:1 [ESV] 1Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
James 5:16 [ESV] 16Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
YES! God can absolutely restore relationships—but often, restoration begins with confession. We must acknowledge our wrongdoings—whether intentional or not—and confess our sins in order to open the door for healing and reconciliation.
Discussion Point #2:
Where in your life have you waited too long to confess a wrong or admit that a relationship was broken, delaying God’s restoring work?
When relationships are broken, it wounds our souls. This is why God calls us to purity and covenant: sex outside of marriage—intimacy without commitment—causes soul wounds. When two become one flesh, their souls are tied together, and if that bond is broken, it damages both souls. We are soul, spirit, and body, and each part can experience hurt.
But don’t lose hope—God thought of that too.
Psalm 23:3 [ESV] 3He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
When we confess our sins to God, to spiritual authority, or to the person we have wronged, God can restore not only us—but that person as well.
Discussion Point #3:
So let’s build on this: God can restore relationships, our souls—what other things can God restore? What about hope? Hope for a baby? Hope for a lost loved one? Hope for a healed and whole family?
Hebrews 11:1 [KJV] 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Psalm 71:20 [ESV] 20You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.
Zechariah 9:12 [ESV] 12Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.
We can have hope and faith that God will restore and lift us up again—returning us not just to where we were, but to something greater than before!
God’s provision is not limited to what we can see or measure—it reaches into the places that have been broken, strained, or lost. His restoration brings healing to our relationships, renewal to our souls, and revival to our hope. When we humble ourselves in confession and invite Him in, He provides reconciliation where there was division, peace where there was pain, and double blessing where there was loss.
Pray for God’s restoration—in your relationships, your hope, and your faith. Ask Him to mend what has been broken and to bring healing where there has been pain.
